Nursery Furniture Sets

Instead of buying furniture piece by piece, you can save a little money by opting for nursery furniture sets. Most sets that I've seen already include a crib, dresser and changing table but if you really want a cohesive look for a nursery I would recommend considering a 5-piece nursery furniture set. Everything doesn't have to match but at least make the room look put together. Don't pair an espresso crib with a white dresser!

You can find nursery furniture sets that cost less than $500 and I think that's a good steal. Make sure you read the reviews and inspect each piece, it should be well-made and sturdy. Remember, your child's safety should be your number one priority.

See what I mean when I say cohesive?

Neutral Crib Bedding Sets

I think a neutral crib bedding is perfect if you 1.) Don't wanna know the gender of the baby until delivery 2.) You're having a boy and girl twins 3.) You are planning to have more children and you want to save money by using the same stuff that your first born used. I like gender-neutral crib bedding sets because they're fun and it's so easy to mix and match.

I wouldn't recommend dark colors on a baby's room. I know there are some who wants the nursery to look modern but there are so many ways on how to achieve that without painting the walls red! Eeewww! You can use darker colors as accents instead. Also, I read somewhere that using bright yellow on the walls will make a baby cry more. Yellow encourages communication and babies use crying to communicate so... I don't know whether that's true or not but I don't wanna risk it! Stick to lighter shade of yellow like butter yellow.

Here are a couple of gender-neutral nurseries that I found on Pinterest. Enjoy!

I don't know what is it about nurseries that gets me so excited. Having a baby is not happening for me anytime soon but I get all worked up just thinking about decorating a nursery. There are no steadfast rules when decorating a room but if you're going to ask me, I would love to get a nice crib bedding set before I start decorating the rest of the room. I wonder how I'm going to design a boy's nursery. There are hundreds of crib bedding for boys out there and I can't get over how adorable they are.

Blue and Brown Crib Bedding

There's something about blue and brown that screams sophisticated and calming to me. The marriage of these two colors is just so beautiful and it doesn't matter whether we're talking about a nursery, a grown-up's room or a living room. So, I was thinking of what to write next and I thought of creating a nursery series so I looked for ideas and I fell in love with the blue and brown crib bedding that I saw from Amazon. Things like this make me excited in decorating a nursery in the near future.

So, if you want a little something different for your baby boy, consider blue and brown color scheme. You're gonna be surprised how well they go together!

Lookey lookey! So cute!

Nursery Decorating Tips

Have a baby on the way? You might be wondering when you're supposed to put together bits and pieces of the nursery. I would say the sooner the better but I wouldn't suggest doing everything earlier than 6 months. There are so many nursery decorating tips that you can find online and I know how overwhelming it can get. So many cute ideas and you literally want to grab every adorable decoration and stick it into the baby's room. The key here is organization and not letting yourself get caught up with everything because if you are not careful, you might end up spending more than what you are supposed to.

Baby Room Furniture Essentials

Picking out everything that the baby needs can be overwhelming especially for a first-time parent. It's so easy to get caught up in the middle and let the sales assistant from the store put things in your cart. Planning is key here, it's everything. To avoid having unnecessary expenses, you must stick to the things the baby needs. But if you have millions of dollars like Mariah Carey or Jennifer Lopez then who cares, right? The problem is we're not like those two divas! Lucky them!!!

Anyway, starting at 24 weeks, make a list of the baby room furniture essentials so you'll know what to get when you head to the store or when you order your baby stuff online. Some people say that a changing table is a must but I beg to disagree. Just buy a changing pad and put it on the drawer or dresser and you are good to go! Saving money doesn't hurt.

Best Body Scrubs

Wanna know why the celebs have delicious skin? It's simple, they EXFOLIATE! If you don't have any idea why you need to scrub regularly then this post is for ya! Exfoliating helps get rid of yucky dead skin cells. When you scrub, you are helping the newer, healthier skin cells to shine through. How often you should scrub depends on how much your skin needs it. I personally scrub at least once every month if my schedule permits it but if I have all the time in the world, heck I'll exfoliate every damn week!

I made a list of the best body scrubs and I do hope you find the list helpful. I can't wait to get my hands on Soap & Glory bath products and those Tree Hut Body Scrubs!!! For now they will be on my wishlist.

Green and Brown Nursery

A green and brown nursery is perfect for a baby boy. There's something about this color scheme that screams ethereal to me. This is perfect for those who want a cozy nursery. I love green but I don't want a single color because that's boring for me. You can paint the walls with two or three shade of green and do some stripes. You can also add accent wallpaper if you want. If you prefer plain walls, make sure you dress them up with trees, animals or rainforest wall decals or stickers.

Pink and Brown Nursery

I love pink but the thought of decorating a nursery with one color terrifies me. Ok, maybe that's an over reaction lol. Pink is a very pretty color that can be paired with so many colors but since I don't want a baby girl's room to be too girly, I would love to pair pink with brown. Been looking at crib bedding sets and nursery decorations in pink and brown and I swear, I've never had so much fun looking at these things until yesterday. A pink and brown nursery is just toooo cute!!! It's so pretty! I swear if I'm going to have a baby girl someday, she's gonna have the loveliest pink and brown nursery with an Eiffel Tower wall decal nonetheless. I can't wait!

No matter what you do, please don't let the groom think that he's marrying the wrong bride! I see so many brides with horrible makeup. Like they were slapped repeatedly on the face with colors you didn't even know existed. You need to look like yourself on your big day, only better and prettier. You want to look like your best self and not a chick who is trying so hard to look different. There are so many simple wedding makeup ideas you can find online and let me share the different looks that I may consider if I ever get married.

Best Organic Makeup Brands

Since I started reading about the whole Veganism thingy, I couldn't help but wonder why companies continue to use animal by products in making various cosmetics when they can just use plant-based ingredients and minerals. I'm a little grossed out about the idea of putting dead insect extract on my freaking face. Yuck!

I'm so happy that there are trusted organic makeup brands out there. One of the best organic makeup brands is Physicians Formula. I love this brand so much and I think their products are one of the best in the drugstore. I've always been a big fan of their organic line and I think people need to start paying attention to organic alternatives. Everyday Minerals and Nvey Eco are also great brands. They are a little pricey but they are totally worth it! Give them a go and tell me whatcha' think!

Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm in Cherish

This is something I wear when I don't feel like wearing any lip gloss or lipstick. I really love this one because it gives my lips a nice, bright pink color and it leaves a beautiful tint. It lasts quite a while so I really like it. Here is a picture of me wearing it.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Make Me Pink Swatch

This is my new favorite pink lipstick. I've been looking for this color for years!!! All my pink lipsticks are either too dark or too light for my liking. I've always wanted a pink lipstick with blue or purple undertones. So here are a couple of pictures of me wearing the lipstick.

Vegan Makeup Brushes

I know there is vegan makeup but I really wasn't aware that there are 100% vegan makeup brushes! Awesome, right? Sigma is one of the hot commodities right now and I'm really happy that they came up with their own vegan makeup brushes. I just wish that their entire line is vegan. EcoTools is another company that makes vegan makeup brushes. I've had the chance to use a couple of their brushes years ago and I was impressed on how soft and smooth their brushes are. They are not expensive at all and that's what I love about them. Well, they are more expensive than E.L.F. brushes but I like the quality of EcoTools brushes better. Another brand that I would love to get my hands on is Bdellium. I think they are the most underrated brushes. People rave about M.A.C. all the time and honestly, I don't see the point in buying ridiculously priced brushes when you can always have the cheaper alternative. Just my two cents.

I didn't know either that they use dead insect extracts and cow uric acid on some traditional makeup. Eeeeewwww! Just the thought of putting that on my face scares me to death. Thank God for vegan makeup! Yeah it's a little on the expensive especially if we're going to talk about the best vegan makeup brands in the market today but I say they are totally worth it. Top 3 Vegan Makeup Brands

Been reading a lot about veganism lately and I couldn't resist the temptation of searching if there are any vegan makeup available in the Philippines. Well, there aren't any but two of  the Top 3 Vegan Makeup Brands on the list are available here. I'm really surprised to find out that Urban Decay and E.L.F. are vegan friendly brands. Wow!

Anway, if you are curious what being vegan entails... you don't eat or use animal or animal by-products. That's kinda' hard to imagine, right? Almost anything and everything is made from animal derivatives. Kudos to all the companies who are making an effort to clean up the beauty industry!

Basic Eye Makeup Brushes

I've always been fascinated on how the perfect eye makeup can make all the difference. Thank God for Youtube videos, I was able to learn the basics of eyeshadow application. I can't say I'm a pro but I can make myself look pretty, alright! Lately, I've been digging neutral eyeshadows. I guess turning 30 made me realize that I can't wear pink shadows haha!

My friends have always envied the way I apply my makeup. Well, I tell them the same thing over and over: get some basic eye makeup brushes and watch Youtube videos all day. And the most important thing you can do is to practice and practice and practice. It's such a cliche but practice makes perfect. I hate it when they complain that they don't know how to put eyeliner when they don't even bother trying. Yup, not trying will get you NOWHERE. Ok, enough about my rants!

I know that for me to achieve a flawless look, I need all the basic face makeup brushes. I'm just starting to build my collection and so far I have collected E.L.F. Studio brushes. Affordable Hair Treatments

I'm crazy about my hair. When my hair looks dull or dry, I get lonely. I remember when that stupid hairdresser cut my hair too short, I almost cried. I had sleepless nights for months! Did I tell you that my hair is everything to me? I know, what a sad sad life I have hahaha! I make sure I deep condition every month but if I notice that my hair can use an extra TLC, I do it once every week. I don't want to spend $250 on a Kerastase product. Well, it's not that I don't wanna; I just can't LOL! I think I'm very happy with affordable hair treatments. I personally love Wen Remoist Intensive Hair Treatment in Sweet Almond. I think next time I'm gonna try the Pomegranate one. Not a big fan of their cleansing conditioners though because they make my hair super oily. I was drawn to Wen products because of Ms. Milano. I love her in Charmed and I have a girl crush on her. She's so pretty and her hair is gorge!

Best Hand Creams

I used to love looking at my hands. People would always compliment how pretty and soft my hands are. I guessed I had this stinking belief that my hands will always look that way no matter what. 10 years later and bam! My hands look OLDER. I was on a search for the best hand creams lately but the thing is I can't afford to spend $50 on a small tub of hand cream. I ain't Kim Kardashian! I'd rather spend my $50 on something else ya' know! So I searched and searched and I'm glad I was able to find some hand creams that are under $20. I'm a happy camper!

Pirates Birthday Party

Is your kid bugging you to throw him a pirates themed birthday party? Well, don't go into your usual panic mode yet because believe it or not, there are plenty of pirate party favors and decorations that you can find in Amazon. You can even find an album that contains pirate songs! If you don't want to brainstorm, I suggest you settle for party packs that already has everything you need. You can find party packs that include dinner plates, dessert plates, spoon and fork, napkins, balloons and table cover. You can also find Pirates of the Caribbean themed party favors and cake decorating kit.

Bissell Spotbot Pet Vacuum Cleaner

Anyone who has their dog living with them inside their home need a Bissell Spotbot Pet Vacuum Cleaner. Pet urine can be very stubborn. I hate how it stains the floor and the carpet! Sure you can use a mop to clean up the mess but why go through all that trouble when you can use a handsfree machine that can do the dirty work for you! The Bissel Spotbot Pet Vacuum Cleaner is uh-mazing! What's cool about this machine is that it comes with automatic cleaning cycles. This will come in handy when you just don't have the time and the energy to clean up dog piss or poop.
